Copper Creek

Like you, I enjoy exploring back roads. You never know what you might find around the next bend. And like most of us,  when crossing a bridge spanning a creek -- I have kept going.

One spring day,  while driving up the 59 Road near Mt. Rainier, I decided, this time,  to stop at the creek I just crossed, just to see what was beyond the first row of trees lining the road. I walked back about 200 feet or so -- and wound up staying  2 1/2 hours!

Here are a few photographs from that magical afternoon.

The local wildlife caught my eye.

This is just a sampling of what I found in that place. I am posting it in hopes that you will feel inspired to go exploring with your own camera. Your own home area, no matter where it is, is filled with places that inspire the imagination and fill the soul with awe.

For the technically curious, these shots were all made with a digital camera, a small zoom, a macro lens, and for the slug and spider, a flash. The files were processed in Photoshop. No special effects were added. All photos were as they came out of the camera.
