I have been an Olympia (WA) area photographer for over 30 years. I also worked as a broadcaster for 22 years -- 18 commercially and 4 at  the crown jewel of Olympia radio, KAOS -FM.  As a photographer, my work represents my many interests, especially wildlife conservation, behavioral studies, and wildlife education. Most of my work has been as a photojournalist, and this of course is my style of shooting. I especially enjoy creating photo stories of the events around us and the places I have visited.

Some recent commercial/editorial clients, or publications where work has appeared, include, the State of Washington (Dept. of Health, Dept. of Natural Resources), The City of Olympia (Parks, Arts & Recreation), Nature Conservancy, Audubon of Washington, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Olympia Harbor Days, and the Olympia Film Society.  Also, the George Lucas Foundation, The National Education Association, CBS News, Nickelodeon Magazine,  High Country News, The Olympian, The Aberdeen Daily World,  The Sacramento Valley Mirror, Washington Post Magazine, Black & White Magazine, and many more.  For seven years, I taught photography at Centralia Community College, am currently teaching privately, and am available for speaking engagements.

I have also created or licensed my work for use on book and CD covers, and exhibit and sell prints of several of my studies. Recent  projects have included documenting of activities in the shop at the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad in Mineral, WA (above). and restoration activities and web-mastering for the old Puget Sound tugboat, Sand Man . Click HERE to see the boat's site.
